Who this is for

Adults gaining weight despite eating reasonably, experiencing fatigue after meals, noticing abdominal fat accumulation, or with a family history of diabetes or cardiovascular disease. Also for anyone who wants a complete metabolic picture before making changes.

Why ApoB before anything else

Standard lipid panels miss the most important marker of cardiovascular metabolic risk: ApoB. ApoB counts total atherogenic particles — a better predictor of risk than LDL-C alone.[1] Most people have never had it tested.

Fasting insulin — not blood glucose — is the earliest signal of insulin resistance. Your glucose can be completely normal for years while insulin climbs.[2]

Measurement path

🩸
ApoB
Primary cardiovascular metabolic risk marker. Optimal: under 80 mg/dL. Standard labs often don't include this — request it specifically.
🩸
Fasting insulin
Early insulin resistance marker. Optimal: under 7 µIU/mL. Most labs flag "normal" up to 25 — that range includes early metabolic dysfunction.
🩸
HbA1c
90-day average glucose. Optimal: under 5.3%. "Normal" per standard ranges is under 5.7% — the gap is where early dysfunction sits.
🩸
hsCRP
Systemic inflammation. Optimal: under 0.5 mg/L. Elevated chronically = higher risk across metabolic and cardiovascular domains.

Supplement stack

Tier 1 — Foundational
💊
Protein — 1.6–2.2g per kg body weight Strong evidence
The most important lever for body composition. Muscle is metabolically active — more of it improves glucose clearance and insulin sensitivity.
💊
Creatine monohydrate — 5g/day Strong evidence
Supports lean mass during fat loss. Improves glucose uptake in skeletal muscle via GLUT4 upregulation. Often overlooked in metabolic protocols. View on Momentous →
💊
Omega-3 — 2–4g EPA+DHA/day Strong evidence
Reduces triglycerides and systemic inflammation. View on Momentous →
💊
Vitamin D3+K2 — 2,000–5,000 IU/day Strong evidence
Test first. Deficiency is extremely common and associated with insulin resistance. View on Momentous →

Cardiometabolic tools to consider

For cardiometabolic risk, the highest-value home measurements are blood pressure, glucose response, and rhythm awareness.

Supplementation after measurement

Preferred supplement partner: Momentous

Supplements should come after the baseline: labs, sleep, training, nutrition, and symptoms. For the supplements CreusLife recommends most often, Momentous is now the preferred partner because it offers focused products for performance, sleep, recovery, and longevity.
